Sports

The achilles heal of all men. We seemingly have to have them. Every guy has his own sport that he loves, but either way we spend a substantial amount of time watching/going to/drinking/ betting on them. And they never get old.

A good sporting event with your buddies is practically heaven. (a beer included is always welcome as well.)

Does anyone have any sports related addictions? I recently got to check out the Chicago blackhawks vs. Detroit red wings and now today it's the cubs baseball game...

Loving it...

  1. I love the NFL.. I haven't really figured out what is going on yet, but I watch. lol

and I haven't picked a fav team yet.

  2. Anything hockey. I love that game! I will (and do) watch any game, any team, any skill level, any time it's on. Absolutely addictive and exciting! A game that fast and super cool had to have been created just for me. ;)

Enjoy the Cubs! (You guys are on a sports tour of American. ;) )

  3. How do you define sport?

A sport needn't be something with a field with a goal at either end.

I used to run and cross-country ski competitively. That's what I like. Oh, and I played lacrosse, but that wasn't as fun as a ski race in the middle of the woods, going as fast as you can around sharp turns, up and down hills, making sure you have the right kind of kick wax on to ensure peak performance, etc. I like "obstacle" courses.

I'm all about the "individual" non-spectator sports.

I still LOVE watching hockey, and I like playing Lacrosse. Pickup games of broomball are cool.

But individual sports blow those things out of the water!

  4. I disagree with the individual sports blowing team sports out of the water... simply on the grounds of al the complex dynamics that go into team sports as opposed to individual ones..

  5. Well, that's your perception anyway. Watch the Olympics and tell me that there aren't complex dynamics going on there. Participate in track and field, cross-country running, or Nordic skiing and tell me there aren't complex dynamics.

They have all that too. They just don't televise well, and unless you are participating in them, you don't know the kind of dynamics that there actually are.
